Hey there! I’m Melissa!
I’m a recipe developer and ice cream aficionado based in Charleston, South Carolina. I graduated from Clemson University’s food science program, which is known for its dairy sciences and world-renowned ice cream.
I’ve had a varied and rewarding career in many areas of the culinary, nutrition, and food industry. (Fun fact: I’m also a Registered Dietitian!)
I go way back with ice cream though – one of my first jobs in high school was slinging ice cream at Bruster’s. 😂 But not just at any Bruster’s – the very first and original store is located near my hometown. (BTW, my fav Bruster’s flavor is, hands down, the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle.)
I’m currently a recipe developer, food photographer, and content creator for my recipe sites and brands. I run a couple of recipe blogs and share all of my recipes on my Instagram.
When I’m not busy developing and photographing recipes, you’ll find me diving into Charleston’s culinary scene or dreaming of my next travel adventure.
Most recently, I got to eat my weight in gelato traveling all over the Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna regions of Italy. (I mean, when you visit Italy in the summer, gelato is a daily required food group and essential for survival in the hot, Italian sun!)
