Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (hulled and chopped)
  • ½ cup granulated white sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ½ cup half and half
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Toss the chopped strawberries with the sugar and lemon juice. Allow to sit for at least 15 minutes for the fruit juices to release.
  • Then, add the sugared strawberries, half and half, heavy cream, and vanilla extract to a blender and blend until completely smooth.
  • Add the puree to the Ninja Creami pint container, making sure that it does not exceed the maximum fill line. Freeze for 24 hours.
  • Remove the pint from the freezer, and place it in the Creami machine. Select the “ice cream” function and allow it to spin.
  • The texture will likely be crumbly after the first spin. If so, use the “re-spin” function 1-2 more times or until you have your desired creaminess. Serve immediately.

Notes

Tips
  • You can use the “re-spin” function as many times as you need to get the texture you’re looking for after your initial processing with the “ice cream” function.
  • To use the mix-in feature, simply make an indentation in the middle that goes all the way to the bottom of the pint container after you have processed it at least once.
  • For mix-ins, leave things that are soft or will crumble easily (like Oreos, pretzels, etc.) whole as the Creami will just continue to make things smaller. For harder things, like nuts or candy bars, chop them before adding them.
Storage Instructions
  • Smooth out the top of the ice cream.
  • Add a small piece of parchment paper to the surface of the ice cream before putting the airtight lid on the Creami pint.
  • Place your container in your freezer as far away from the freezer door as possible.
  • After refreezing, if you want to reprocess the ice cream, you must again first use the “ice cream” function before using a “re-spin” function.
  • For the best flavor and texture, consume within 2 weeks.
